THE PROCESS
The pretty is great; we all love the pretty! But "pretty" without process falls flat every time!
Your experience begins with a phone call. If we have gotten this far, then we know that you like the work. The next step is to determine if we are a good fit for each other.
Event planning is a full-contact sport. To do this properly, we need to be a team. You choose us and we choose you back. From that moment on, we are on your team and by your side. Your job is to dream. Our job is to get to know you so that we can create. As artists, we see a world that doesn’t exist yet. As logistical experts, we are here to walk you and the team through the process of bringing that world to life.
We become the custodian of your future memories. The work we will do together is very important. It only works if we get to know each other on deeply personal levels. And so to begin, we spend a lot of time getting to know each other. Whether in person over lunch or online via Instagram and Zoom, nothing happens until we have a sense of who you are. For wedding clients, this pertains to who you are as individuals and as a couple. For corporate companies, this pertains to your company beliefs and values. For non-profit organizations, this pertains to what your non-profit stands for and your mission. And the list goes on depending on the type of client you are. This is about storytelling your past, your present, and your future. It may seem silly or even a little trite, but in order for us to do our best work, we have to become friends.
Next, we will begin to talk through the broad strokes of your experience. What do you want your event to look like, to feel like? We start with broad, sweeping gestures as we discuss seasonality, the time of day, possible locations. Then, we apply a sensory approach as we begin to explore the colors, textures, sounds, and smells that you want to be featured. Slowly, these elements come together to create an immersive experience that can only be described as utterly “you”.
The environment we create together is the most important thing. We live in a visual society. What your space looks like matters. Atmosphere is about the things people will see and hear, touch and taste. These things matter! Therefore, event design is where we will start and where we will spend the bulk of our time. While we will look to the world for inspiration, we specialize in doing the thing that has not been done before. We never knock off someone else’s work and we refuse to do the same event twice. For that reason, it will be impossible for us to show you a photo of what your wedding will look like. Instead, we will work with mood boards, sketches, renderings, and narratives. To surprise and delight, some elements will be kept a secret, unseen until they are unveiled to you.
Are you feeling a bit scared or unsure? WE UNDERSTAND! But it is exciting, isn’t it? Yes, there is a risk being so vulnerable while creating something that never existed before. Yet we wholly believe that this is where the magic is. It is in there moments that you allow yourself to be delighted and surprised. And isn’t that the point?
We ask you to trust the process and to trust us. Our partners will bring together the absolute finest tables, m chairs, and florals. We will set the mood with lighting and texture. Our catering partners, sommeliers, and mixologists will work together to build a progressive dining experience. The entertainers bring energy and excitement. All of these moving parts come together and establish the whole. Working in unison, each of these elements creates the feeling of coming home. For one night, the world is a perfect place.
The goal isn’t simply to spend money for the sake of spending it. Everything we do is in service of connection.
You want your guests to leave saying that was the best event ever. You want your family and friends to leave saying that this was the best wedding ever. To turn a moment into a memory so that your guests hail it as one of the greatest nights of their lives, we finalize the design with the guest experience in mind.
Once the design is done, we walk through the day as if we were your guest. Every interaction is a touchpoint. And so we ask the questions…
What are we saying to your guests with your save the date and invitation suite?
How user-friendly is your website?
Have we created experiences?
What opportunities do we take to show them they are valued and loved?
How are they greeted and what are they served?
Have we dazzled them with the food, and surprised them with entertainment?
How do we move them from experience to experience throughout the evening?
Layer upon layer. Moment by moment. From sight to sound, sound to smell, smell to touch, touch to taste. We walk through the day until we can close our eyes and believe we are in the room.
And there, in the midst of it all, is you. Surrounded by the people and things you love most. Just as you should be.
It is very important to us that you know how much we love what we do. Our team has dedicated our lives to celebrating life’s special moments. Our job is to create extraordinary experiences for people who lead extraordinary lives. We do this by bending the universe to our will.
For one night, the world will be a perfect place.
COMMUNICATION
Communication is unlimited; phone calls, emails, text messages, and in-person meetings. Some of our clients are very tech-social and like to share via Instagram Direct Messages. Other's prefer in-person meetings over coffee or lunch. Whatever works for you is what we will do. We will have phone calls. We will have meetings. We will text, trade, and hopefully play. This is supposed to be fun! Let’s have a great time.
We must respect the work that we are doing together. We pride ourselves on being available for our clients. Communication is constant and comprehensive. You will speak to us and we will speak to everyone else. We are the hub that connects you to the larger team, reviewing details and working to ensure that we are on point, on time, and on budget. Proposals and contracts will be reviewed and sent to you clean, with utter transparency. You will have the opportunity to review everything and ask questions. Answers and a pathway forward are not always instantaneous. Some requests require research, time, and answers from our supporting teams. You will be kept up to date on the progress of any and all tasks. Inquiries and questions will be responded to within one to two business days.
We will work together to complete our tasks during business hours, with the understanding that we may occasionally need to schedule calls and meetings after hours and on the weekends. We all lead big and busy lives, and will always strive to respect your schedule and your private time.
